Dr. James Nasimith was the Creator, a Canadian coach

He created the game becuase YMCA wanted players to train and play indoors in any sport that Nasimith could come up with. So Nasimith created "basketball" and included the 13 original rules. He decided to use a soccer ball first becuase he thought small balls were too dangerous. In order for the players to not guard the goal easily, he suspended the goal 10 feet from the ground. The first version had no backboard or hole, so every time you made a shot, it would be stuck in the goal. He eventually added the board, and the sport became popular.

how – he nailed two half-bushel peach baskets on each side of the gymnasium on the lower railing. he used as a soccer ball. then he came up with the rules.

basketball was invented in Dec.1891 by a Canadian physician named James Naismith.

Brief History on Creator of Basketball?
I have an essay, and i want to start the intro with a brief history of basketball.
