Is it possible to get into a university if I miss the due date for college applications?
So, I haven’t taken the SAT yet and the next one is in October, and I just found out from my friend that college applications are due in October. So, I really don’t know what to do. Is it possible for me to get into a university or is it too late? What can I do? Is there anything I can do? Also, if there isn’t anything I can do about the situation this year and I end up going to a community college, is it possible for me to get into a university college in the next year?
Most colleges would want you to turn in your application on time. Never turn in an application late, because it will definitely decrease your chances of being accepted. Just write on your college application that you are taking the test in October, and have your scores sent directly to that University. If you using the Common Application in the section to list your test scores it says date taken or date to be taken. The only downside to that is that if you do badly on that test there is no second chance.I don’t know what college you are applying to but most application deadlines are actually in December or January. All of the schools I applied to would even let me take the test as late as February. Check on your schools website to see their policy or just call the admissions office and ask. You can definitely get into a college and turn in your applications on time! Good luck!

Errr . . . your friend is probably wrong. You can take the SAT in October and still have time to apply to the majority of colleges for admission in the Fall of 2011 or even the springish/summerish semesters in 2011.

First of all, college applications are due December 31 NOT October…I don’t know who told you that. That only applies to specific schools like the UCs and ED/EA schools. So you can still take the Oct SAT and apply to the school.
