Would you take a personality test to help you define your next career? If yes, why? If no, why not? Do you find it helpful to take a test to get to know yourself better when starting a new job search?

They are all a bunch of BS…never helped me any. References :

I usually don’t find it very helpful to get information from personality tests. They are fun to do though.
I tend to get my career options from various movies I watch. References :

if you are interested in tests like that look up tickletest they got all that stuff it’s more for fun, but sure why not take the test? References :

I found that the jobs that they suggested were jobs that I’d probably be happy in, but not what I wanted to pursue. If you have no idea what to study and where you want to go, try it. But if you have even the slightest idea of what you want to do, they aren’t helpful. References :

No because I am a renaissance man and when I choose a career it is because I have developed an interest in it and will put all my resources to the task.
I have worked in many different careers and I work them until I reach a pinnacle that satisfies me and then I find something new and different to learn and nurture into a career. References :

The real results of these tests are not what they think your career should be, but to see what you should be to go for your career of choice.
You have more than forty years in a career, whereas you’ve only done less than 20 years of training (school). You have not yet fully developed your personality yet, and you are not an old dog yet either, so you can change your ways.
If you are already in a job you dislike, make sure what yu dislike is the job or the company – then go from there. Just remember a career is not a single job or position, but a path.
