How can I get into an ivy league school?
I’m going to High School in September, and I want to get into an ivy league school. What do I have to do to get into one of these colleges from public school? I am going to be starting high school with all honors classes except for math and science. (My weakest subjects) How should I study to get into one of these colleges?
It’s good that you have started with the honors classes, but in the next few years you want to think about taking AP courses. I would suggest taking at least one or two in your sophomore year in subjects you are comfortable in. I would also try to take the PSAT this upcoming year to see how well you will do and work on your problem areas. Also make sure that you take SAT II in subjects that you are taking. For example at my school freshmen take biology so I would advise a freshman at my school to take the Biology SAT II exam that year so he/she could remember the info. Make sure that you keep both your weighted and unweighted gpa up, become involved in extra-curriculars and do well on standardized tests and you will be fine. I hope this helped and doesn’t seem like too much, just have fun and work hard and you’ll do well.
P.S. I believe that Ivy League Schools are overrated especially for Undergraduate School. Once in the real world employers don’t pay too much attention to your undergrad education but more attention on your grad. education.
