How obesity and heart disease are killing our country and what we can do to stop it. What abstinence only education is teaching the youth of America. Um… pay attention while going through your day and reflect on something that really pisses you off. Chances are, people can relate to you.

Best of luck

I am writing an essay about disappointment for the common application. Think about emotions, how they affect us, what causes them, and all that. Pick a specific emotion and run with it. I think that colleges will gobble that up, but I don’t know, because I’m probably in the same position you are. I read somewhere that this essay should be personal, and be written in your own voice and tone. I know that so far my essay on disappointment isn’t a personal, first-person essay, but I guess if the experts say it should be, then I need to work on it (I read it in "Acing the College Application" by Michele A. Hernandez", a former admissions officer from Dartmouth U). I may be right about this being an original idea, or I may be wrong, but I hope this helps and maybe even leads to other creative ideas you may come up with. Good Luck!

I think putting a lot of thought into your essay subject is great.
Try—-
-How you could contribute to the college.
-An important time in your life.
-Who was a big influence in you life.
-What attracts you to their college.
-The difference you hope to make in the world.
Don’t go too controversial, it is too dangerous and may be seen as just a way to get attention.
