I want to go to Canada for University. I have been looking up the canadian universities and was wandering which one of them are better for undergrade biology McGill or University of Toronto and Medicine McGill of University of Toronto?

McGill was ranked as the Top University in Canada for medicine. However, its really hard to get into. Out of 200 spots, only 20 are for non-Canadians. Apparently, to get into med-school at UofT its a coin toss. When it comes to biology, both universities I’m sure have great bio departments. I’m a University of Toronto student (St. George campus) so I’d go with UofT. Make sure you’re going to St. George though, because if you end up at the Scarborough campus or the Mississauga campus then they both suck.

Hope this helps!

I heard that the university has an excellent faculty and is growing rapidly in the last few years.

It’s pretty much Canada’s only private university MBA program. BC is the only province that allows private universities. As such people are probably going to be a bit suspicious of its accreditation. It’s only been around for a few years so its long term reputation is not yet established., There’s a pretty strong stigma against private colleges/universities in Canada as we have an ongoing issue with diploma mills - particularly those that seem to target foreign students unaware of this problem.

If you can, go to a public University’s business school.

I am eligible for Canadian Immigration and my documents are almost ready for submission and I am also admitted in a university in Canada. Shall I apply for immigration or study permit?

As study visa has nothing to do with a residence visa.

You have to leave after a study visa is finished and you are limited in how much and where you can work while on the visa.

A residence visa is without limit. It usually takes about 2 years to process a residence visa, if you are accepted.

You have to pay international University fees, about double, if you are on a study visa or have been in Canada less than a year as a landed resident.

I would like to spend maybe a year or two at university in Canada and I would like to know how expensive University is in Canada.

it could be very expensive. for example University of Toronto has an average tuition fee of $17,000 CAD however on average it is $4,917. averages vary from province to province with an average of $5,951in Ontario and 2,272 in Quebec. However if you don’t speak french you may have some trouble in Quebec. remember tho you get what you pay for, University of Toronto is one of the biggest and best in the world so you may want to spend the extra money if you can.
